I love family life, children, craft & pelicans This blog site will be an area where I hope to merge these interests together. There will be a great deal of content on craft, hobbies and reading for adults, plus the same for children of all ages and importance placed on children's learning. Family life is the basis of our society so I shall try to bring my position on how important this is in my life and hopefully you can all assist me by adding your own views.

I found these wonderful little books (3 different books) all about afternoon tea. I gave one each to two of my close friends and kept the third for myself. Have just recently started to look through mine and am so thoroughly enjoying it because it is bringing back so many memories of childhood delights. Going to my paternal grandmother on every second Sunday afternoon, catching up with my cousins and playing while the parents all at around chatting and then the eventual delightful afternoon tea time. Cups and saucers, pots of tea (not a tea bag in sight), sugar bowls, jugs of milk (with handmade covers on top to keep out the flies, incidentally, I make these), and then the little side plates & cloth serviettes ready for the wonderful plates of food. There would be tasty sandwiches, scones, home made biscuits, slices & cakes and lastly the inevitable SPONGE CAKE. It probably only had jam and mock cream in centre and would be sprinkled with icing sugar on top. I am drooling as I write this.Have any of you memories similar or special to you that we could work on as a group and being back the wonderful afternoon teas, with no packet biscuits in sight. Talk to me please.
